The power of the Criterion product line continues with WayMark: An alternative to digital meters.

This permit-based postage payment solution enables mailers to verify the weight of every mailpiece, calculate postage, generate postage reports, and optionally print customized indicia all in one operation. It consists of a high-speed weight verification module and an optional permit printer integrated into a Criterion sorter system.
WayMark has realized 100% USPS acceptance of mailing.
Benefits
- Eliminates the step of separating mail by weight for a permit mailing, thus increasing presort qualification and decreasing labor time
- Verifies postage at high speeds up to 36,000 mailpieces per hour based on mailpiece size — greatly improving operational productivity
- Quality Weight Verification — checks weight anomalies against expected value via high-speed mailpiece insert verification. Eliminates postage estimation errors
- Greatly reduces operational costs such as ink and labor costs
- Eliminates metering mailpieces prior to running them through a sorter. No need to purchase meters. No additional machine runs
WayMark increases the value for presorting mail by:
- Allowing mailers to convert from an expensive metering solution to a permit environment without the need for file-based processing software at the front-end of their mail production process
- Saving on metered reclamation costs (usually 15% of postage applied) and the associated labor to prepare the mailpieces for postage reclamation by using permit mailings
- Allowing multi-ounce processing without keyline data
- Streamlining permit process/enabling pre-sorters to submit permit mailings in place of clients
- Optimizing management of float on postage funds
- Optionally printing customized marketing information and transaction dating
