MMT SABRE
The MMT SABRE multi-line optical character reader is an omni-font, software-based address recognition system that resolves a mailpiece's outgoing U.S. address to the appropriate delivery point POSTNET barcode. Three tightly integrated OCR engines provide the highest possible read rates. Combine that with state-of-the-art recognition and CASS database look-up, and you have a superior high-performance recognition system.

- Dramatically increases 11-digit barcode assignments
- Reduces labor by reducing hand-sorting and physical mail handling.
- Allows upgrades to be added via software updates, protecting the mailer's investment
- Enables upgrades to Jetstar, Criterion and many non-Bell and Howell letter-based sorters
Features
- Consists of an image processing unit and a data lift unit.
- Reader operating software, character recognition software
- USPS Directory updates are provided via an annual WinSort subscription fee
- Directory updates are monthly
- Compatible with Bell and Howell outgoing USPS sorting software, and many non-Bell and Howell letter-based MLOCR sorters

MMT SABRE Plus
When optical character recognition technologies cannot read mail, most companies process rejected mail through an off-line OCR system or send them to vendor video encoders. Resolving mail off-line requires staging, then waiting one or two hours before re-running the mail. This can adversely impact service agreements, sorting capacity and processing costs.
Bell and Howell has teamed up with Parascript to provide MMT SABRE Plus, the most advanced reject processor to date. It combines Bell and Howell advanced reading technology with Parascript's machine and hand-print recognition software, significantly reducing first-pass rejects and increasing 11-digit barcode assignments. When MMT SABRE reads a mailpiece, it tells MMT SABRE Plus to stop reading, freeing up the system to process images MMT SABRE cannot read, eliminating charges for barcodes that MMT SABRE can assign.

Benefits
- Enhances 11-digit assignments without the one-to-two hour wait of remote video encoding
- Enables sorting of up to 36,000 letters per hour
- Generates reports that monitor equipment usage, supplies reader statistics, and provides total job and mailstream counts
- Allows you to make no capital investment for the first system installed at each site; we'll pay for the hardware
