Dec., 1, 2004 [Chicago, IL] The Board of Directors of BÖWE Bell + Howell today announced its appointment of Marvin L. Isles as the company's Chief Executive Officer.
Isles, a member of BÖWE Bell + Howell's Board of Directors, has been involved in the evolution of Bell+Howell since the company's merger with BÖWE SYSTEC, AG of Augsburg, Germany, in January of 2003.
Isles is also a member of the Executive Network at Chicago-based private equity firm Glencoe Capital, which acquired Bell+Howell in 2002. Glencoe retained an interest in the company after its merger with BÖWE SYSTEC in 2003.
BÖWE Bell + Howell has made remarkable progress since the time of the acquisition and is now entering a new phase of accelerated development, noted Isles. I am excited to be taking a more hands-on role at this critical juncture in the company's evolution.
Before joining BÖWE Bell + Howell, Isles was Chairman and CEO of Giddings & Lewis, at that time the largest machine tool manufacturer in North America. Previous to that, he was Executive Vice President of GenCorp, a $2 billion diversified company with businesses in the aerospace, automotive and plastic industries.
