Chicago, Ill., April 27, 2004 BÖWE BELL + HOWELL, the world's leading manufacturer of document processing and postal solutions, announced today the acquisition of cQuence, Inc., and its cQuencer solution suite. cQuencer is an innovative and cost-effective presort and manifest mailing software solution that allows businesses and mailers to produce mixed-weight mailpieces in a single mailing. cQuencer also provides all necessary documentation for the Postal Service, allowing mixed-weight mailings to qualify for automation savings on postage.
Presorting mail can mean significant savings for high-volume mailers and is an effective means of improving cash flow, said Karl Klopsch, president of cQuence. Manifesting allows mailers to submit a detailed report on a mailing's contents and weights to the Postal Service and to pay the exact amount of required postage at the time of delivery.
In addition to postage savings, cQuencer can be used to increase throughput levels on high-volume processing equipment. cQuencer analyzes mailpiece data prior to the printing process and reorders the documents into the optimal sequence for inserting throughput without negating the presort order for USPS discounts. This enables operators to achieve the highest levels of efficiency on their inserting systems while still benefiting from postal discounts through sorting.
