Maximizing productivity to enhance the bottom line
Bell and Howell’s Producer series of high-speed inserters are designed for environments that demand mailpiece quality and integrity controls, high production volumes and low operating costs. Producer inserters are built to last, are productive in the most challenging environments, and are easily maintained.
The requirement to meet high production demands with the fewest number of machines and the lowest possible labor costs is causing the industry to rethink the approach to high-speed mail production. Bell and Howell Producer inserters yield the highest production with the fewest number of operators.
Higher productivity
An array of productivity enhancements designed to reduce operating costs, optimize every machine cycle and automate paper handling processes are available. These inserters have the capability to process a variety of application types at speeds that are perfectly matched to your business and production needs.
Machine speeds don’t tell the whole story when looking at net throughput. The Producer series of inserters is designed to optimize operator efficiency with labor-savings tools that include physical features of the machine as well as innovative software.
In high-volume mailing and printing environments, it’s often the operator performance that limits daily output. Typically, a single operator cannot keep up with the demands made by inserters running at speeds of 10,000 envelopes per hour or more. The net effect is that the throughput per hour depends not on the machine, but on the operator. The Producer 30 inserting system maximizes net throughput per labor hour and gives you a competitive advantage.

Machine enhancements include high reliability, increased capacity feeders plus semi-automated traying, which help increase the effectiveness of the operator.
The machine layout is designed to reduce the walking distance and work load. The Producer 30 inserting system utilizes a true “in-line” process. Insert and envelope feeders are located on the operator side of the system over the main collation track, and inserts and envelopes travel in the same direction, making them easy to access and load. Envelope feeding and opening is completed in a short, direct delivery path.
The inserting technology used by the Producer 30 reduces the number of moving parts, and simplifies the flow of material and reduces stoppages. This results in increased up-time and less burden on the operator, which translates to higher productivity and a significant reduction in scrap and rework.
Harmonix technology
Until now, mail inserters cycled at a fixed speed, or at an operator-selected speed. In both cases, set sizes, material characteristics and paper handling are ignored. This has a negative impact on inserter performance, operator efficiency and productivity. Inserters may run too fast and leave open sections, which wastes cycles. Operators may set the machine at a speed lower than the application requires, reducing productivity.
With the Harmonix solution, inserters run more efficiently by adjusting the speed automatically in response to changing set sizes, inserter performance, and operator capability. We’ve added Harmonix technology to the Producer Series of mail inserters for optimal productivity.
Navigator system controller for optimized production
The Producer 30 also features the Bell and Howell Navigator system controller, which acts as a master command center for virtually any device. With Navigator, operators are free to engage in their operational duties while communicating with the system using the optional voice command. This allows them to focus on keeping the system running and lowering your cost per piece.
All Bell and Howell products follow a design philosophy focusing on productivity. If your business relies on optimizing both the equipment and operator performance, you won’t find a better inserting system than the Producer 30 inserting system.
