Ramesh Ratan, President and CEO
Ramesh Ratan is CEO and member of the board of directors of Bell and Howell, a leading global provider of multi-channel communications and commerce solutions. He is also a member of the board of directors of BCC Software LLC, a Versa Capital company.
Previously at Pitney Bowes, as President, Marketing Services Solutions, Ramesh developed a new business platform to drive revenue growth via partnerships with global marketing data services providers. As President of the $600 Million Pitney Bowes Document Messaging Technologies business, he drove profitability and revenue growth by consolidating multiple country organizations and integrating three acquired companies into a single global business unit.
Earlier, as Chief Operating Officer at the Direct Marketing Association, Ramesh led a new growth strategy focusing on data- and analytics-driven marketing. His prior roles included President, Americas of Vocaltec, the company that pioneered Internet telephony, and senior executive roles at Lucent Technologies, where he led the development and launch of the Saras Softswitch business. He created the first prototype within two months and negotiated the first industry contract for $250 million. Within one day, this deal added $8 billion in market value to shareholders.
In his early career, at Bell Laboratories in roles from founder of the AT&T Consumer Lab to Director, Lucent Bell Labs Technology Management Science Center, Ramesh directed the design and implementation of over 6,000 consumer experiments in video, Internet and communications services that lead to product and service innovations generating an estimated $40 billion in AT&T revenue over ten years.
Ramesh received a BSc in mathematics and graduated 1st class with Distinction and Honors at the University of Poona in Poona, India. He also received an MBA with honors from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, a program established as a partnership with Stanford University and obtained a PhD at the University Of Pittsburgh.
Arthur Bergens, CFO
Arthur Bergens is the chief financial officer of Bell and Howell. Arthur has 30 years of global experience in a wide range of financial, operational, and administrative leadership positions. Arthur began his career at Ernst and Young and rose through the ranks of private and public companies in various technology industries. Most recently, he was CFO of Overture Networks and has held leadership positions with Centice Corporation, Amkor Technology, Unitive Electronics, and Modus Media International. In 2009, Arthur was named a Top CFO by Business Leader Media and received the Triangle Business Journal’s “2011 CFO of the Year” award. Arthur holds a MBA from Campbell University and a BS in accounting from the University of New Orleans. Arthur is a licensed certified public accountant in both Louisiana and North Carolina.
Larry Blue, COO
Larry Blue is chief operating officer at Bell and Howell. Larry brings 35 years of engineering and global, cross-functional management experience including product development, sales and manufacturing. Most recently, he was COO of RF Technologies, Inc., and president of Kokua, LLC. Larry is a graduate of Duke University, with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering. He holds three U.S. patents, has authored numerous papers on communications and RFID, and is a member of several industry associations.
VP/Chief Technology Officer
Brian Bowers is vice president and chief technology officer at Bell and Howell. With over 20 years’ experience in the mailing industry, Brian has significant knowledge of the various technologies used in the mailing industry. He has over 30 years of engineering experience in hardware and software development in five different industries. In addition to development experience, Brian has many years of operations and manufacturing experience, with concentrations in Lean Manufacturing and design. With extensive experience in the mail sorting industry, Brian is considered an industry resource by the customer base.
VP/GM of Enterprise Software
Mike Lambert is the vice president and general manager of the enterprise software group at Bell and Howell. Mike spent 23 years at CIGNA Healthcare designing and implementing its enterprise customer communications architecture. He has served as senior vice president of business development for Sefas Innovation; has helped establish and chair several user groups including the Exstream, EMTEX and Sefas user groups; has been a member of XPLOR for more than 25 years; participated in several Joint Technology Council initiatives; and was on the Strategic Advisory Council for ANACOMP and the Advisory Board for Return Mail Solutions.
VP/GM Sorting & Parcels
Mike Swift is vice president and general manager of the sorting and parcels strategic business unit at Bell and Howell. He has been with the company since 1995, holding positions including president of Bell and Howell sorting and postal software.
VP/GM Service Solutions
Jim Feely is the vice president and general manager of service solutions at Bell and Howell. Jim brings over 25 years of industry experience having held both sales and service roles. Most recently, within Bell and Howell, he has held the position of executive director of sales, director of Service and the director of worldwide technical support. Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Warren National University and an associate degree in electronics from DeVry University.
Gerard DeRome (Jerry) has been with the company since June of 1996. In his role as Vice President and General Manager of the inserting product line, his focus is on developing hardware and software solutions for transactional mailers and direct mailers. In addition, he is working on solutions that help customers reduce operational and postage costs and increase response rates for both First Class and Standard Class mailings. Jerry holds an MBA from University of New Haven, CT and a BSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Managing Director BH International
Hendrik Fischer is the managing director of Bell and Howell International. He has been with the company since 2003 holding several positions in the North American Sales Operations. Hendrik has previously served as the CEO of an information technology company in the US.
Joe Zuech is vice president of the combined manufacturing and supply chain organizations at Bell and Howell. He has been with the company since 1997 and has been in the Industry since 1990. He holds multiple patents that provide solutions to Bell and Howell customers.
VP Customer Support Services
Don Bullock is the vice president of customer support services at Bell and Howell. Don brings over 25 years of industry experience having held many positions within the service and support organizations. Most recently, within Bell and Howell, he has held the position of vice president of technical support. Don’s background is in information technology and electronics.
VP Supply Chain Management
Patty Holt is the vice president of supply chain management. Patty has been with Bell and Howell for 16 years. She has more than 30 years of experience in Supply Chain. Her broad experience prior to Bell and Howell includes automotive manufacturing, appliance and mechanical component manufacturing, and supplies distribution. Patty achieved her lifetime certification of Purchasing Management through the Institute of Supply Management.
VP of Marketing & Communications
Karen Morris is the vice president of marketing and communications at Bell and Howell. She brings more than 25 years of marketing experience. Karen earned a bachelor of business degree in marketing from Georgia State University and has completed coursework at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School Leadership Development Program.

Blake Eaddy is the vice president of general counsel of Bell and Howell. Blake has been with the company since 1997.
VP Human Resources
Jerilyn Meckler is vice president of human resources at Bell and Howell. She brings more than 20 years of experience across a number of different industries. Jerilyn earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from Ohio University, a master's degree in labor and human resources from Ohio State University, and is certified as an business/executive coach through the University of Georgia.
